CARBON RECYCLING INTERNATIONAL WINS THE NATIONAL ENERGY GLOBE ICELAND AWARD

The panel of industry expert jurors appointed by the International Energy Globe announced this month that Carbon Recycling International's entry, featuring the Emissions-to-Liquids (ETL) technology, was selected as the winner of the National Energy Globe Iceland Award.

The award recognises the ETL technology's contribution to addressing several key environmental challenges, including climate change, carbon emission reduction from industry and energy transition within the transport sector. Having operated an industrial scale production facility for more than 5 years and produced renewable  methanol commercially over the same period, the process was found highly viable from a technological and economical standpoint, and thus fit the criteria laid out by the jury.

With more than 182 participating countries and over 2000 project submissions annually the Energy Globe Award is among today's most prestigious environmental prize worldwide. It distinguishes projects regionally, nationally and globally that conserve resources such as energy or utilise renewable or emission-free sources. The National Awards then distinguish the best project submission from a given country.

National Winners receive an Energy Globe Certificate which serves as an internationally recognised hallmark for sustainability. The Certificate will be delivered to CRI during an official award ceremony in Copenhagen this August.

"The success of CRI's entry is another important recognition for our approach to Carbon Capture and Utilisation and a path towards the implementation of a circular economy." said Sindri Sindrason, CEO of CRI.
