CRI ANNOUNCES A CEO TRANSITION

CRI hf. announces that Ingólfur Guðmundsson has left his position as CEO. Björk Kristjánsdóttir, the CFO from the executive team will serve as the company‘s CEO during the transition period.  Kristjánsdóttir has been a key member of the management team and played a vital role in the planning and execution of the company‘s finance and business strategy for the past years.

CRI is a clear leader in the field of green technology for e-fuels and sustainable chemicals, which has been rapidly gaining momentum in the last few years. The company constructed and operated for over a decade the first of a kind CO₂ to methanol production facility, located in Iceland. In parallel it further developed its technology through EU funded projects and has signed two commercial scale projects serving the steel and chemical industry in China. The first project is expected to be commissioned later this year. CRI has also been building a project pipeline in all geographies while lowering its debt significantly and signing important strategic partnership agreements. The company is therefore very well positioned for rapid growth and international roll-out of its proprietary and unique Emissions-to-Liquids technology.

“I am honored to take on this role and continue to work on the company‘s growth along with the highly skilled and dedicated team. The company is at an exciting place, transitioning from a start-up to a growing technology company with a strong product ready for wide scale deployment. This fits well with global ambitions to fight climate change through replacement of fossil fuels and fossil based chemical products“, says Björk Kristjánsdóttir, the CEO of CRI.”

“Based on strong foundations and years of experience and knowledge, CRI‘s management team is ready to continue to grow the company as a global leader in its field. The Board thanks Ingólfur Guðmundsson for his tenure with CRI over the past 3 years as CEO. Significant achievements have been made in the past years, preparing the company for further growth. This transition is happening at the right moment and we are confident that the management team has the right experience, knowledge and strength to bridge to the next phase“, says Þórður Magnússon, Chairman of the Board of Directors.”
